What Are The Side Effects Of Pristiq Tablets?

Good morning, I have just been prescribed 100mg daily of Pristiq & I am comparing it with Zoloft as I do not like what I have read re side effects of Pristiq. Should I go back to my GP & discuss this with him. I am female, 64 yrs of age & suffer from palpitations due to stress or sugar levels. I am right on the cusp of diabetes type 2 & this has been controlled with diet for the past 2 years.

Dear User,

Thanks for using health care magic.

In my view pristiq is better option for a post menopausal women with diabetes in compare to zoloft. Only thing that is of concern to me is the starting dose of 100mg which you need to discuss with your GP. Generaaly 50 mg of pristiq is effective and causes less side effects than 100mg. The recommended starting dose is 50 mg as it is advisable to continue for four weeks before increasing dose.

'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help".
Thanks
