Hi,I am Diwashish Biswas (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother went for a chek up yesterday to two doctors, cardiologist and neuro, she is having shpertenstion and nerves problem in hands, right is more affected with pain and numbness in two fingers.they prescribed tolol am 50,betacap 20 and pregabid me 75, yesterday night she had one tablet each.nw she is feling sleepy ndifficulty in walking means she may fell down.answer the uses of these tablets and best doses, her bp was 160/100 yestrday.
Welcome to HCM and thank you for the query. I understand your concern for your mother. The tablet that is making her sleepy and unsteady is Pregabid ME 75 (Pregabalin 75mg + Methylcobalamin 750mcg). She should take it at bed time. Then she may be able to tolerate it better. I presume Totol AM and Betacap 20 are prescribed by two different doctors as both contain beta blockers. Your mother's blood pressure is not under good control. She should reduce the salt in her food and follow a DASH diet and lose weight if overweight. When she is able to exercise and practice stress relief , these would also help to normalise the blood pressure.
