What Are The Side Effects Of Ablation Surgery?

I am 54 years old, I had ablation surgery about 8 years ago, I have not had a period since. I am complete with menopause according to my blood test my GP took about a year ago. But about a week or so ago, my breast started to hurt badly like they did when I would get my period. Last night, my body got completely achy and had a slight fever, this morning I felt great, my breast all but completely stopped hurting, and my fever and achiness went away. Tonight around 8pm I had signs of a period, bloody discharge? should I be concerned? is this normal?

Hi,

If your previous blood reports of FSH levels are above 15, then you are into menopausal state. Your fever and body pain symptoms can be due to viral influenza like infection.

Your breast pain can be due to age wise degenerative changes. If you are having any kind of bleeding now, it should be investigated meticulously. I will suggest you to get USG done, and hysteroscopy with endometrial biopsy will be of help.

Your vaginal bleeding needs to be investigated as to rule out any kind of genital tract infection or genital tract malignancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar,
