Hi,

The common side effects of anti-tuberculosis medication AKT-2 include nausea / vomiting, stomach upset, heartburn, harmless orange discoloration of urine, saliva, or tears, and numbness / tingling of arms / legs. It may also cause liver dysfunction. Her nausea can be prevented by giving anti-emetics like domperidone either as needed or on a daily standing basis 30 minutes before taking AKT-2). Proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole omeprazole can also provide relief. Besides, other causes of persistent nausea such as liver dysfunction should be ruled out by her doctor.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
