What Are The Side Effects Of Anesthesia?
Hi there. I received a colonoscopy 4 days ago and have suffered increasing and deepening bouts of lightheadedness and nausea (without vomiting so far) since then. These feelings are not constant, and come and go, but the intensity has increased throughout the week... Can this be a bad reaction to the anesthesia?? I have been eating and hydrating normally (urine is back to normal very pale yellow color) and have not had any unusual abdominal pains since about 1 day after the procedure. Thank you in advance.

Side effects of general anesthesia include:
Temporary confusion and memory loss, although this is more common in the elderly. Dizziness, Urine Retention, Bruising or soreness from the IV drip, Nausea and vomiting, shivering and feeling cold, sore throat, due to the breathing tube, etc.
