Hello doctor my son is 5 years 10 months old.he was given augpen ds for his throat infection.but once he we started giving him this medicine he started have loose motion and today is second day for loose motion.today morning I realized his stool was red colour

Hi,

Augpen-DS belongs to the class of amoxy-penicillins. These group of drugs can commonly cause gastrointestinal side effects such as abdominal pain and diarrhea. Hence, do not worry. You can stop the drug and start with other antibiotics like Co-trimoxazole which does not cause loose stools and can be used in children.
