What Are The Side Effects Of Cortisone Injection To Relieve L4 Nerve Pain ?

I had a cortisone injection to relieve L4 nerve pain throughout my left leg on March 23. This past week I started to have a lot of constipation that I've been able to relieve with gentle laxatives. Could this be a side effect of the injection or unrelated. This was my second injection, the first was on Feb. 3.

Hi and thanks for this query.

Constipation is not a possible side effect of steroids. I will suggest that you eats much vegetables and fibers, fruits, drink much water and exercise regularly to help ease this constipation. Should these symptoms persist, please consider getting evaluated for a more comprehensive treatment.

I wish you well and hope this helps.
