Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband was perscribed diltiazem (inwood) 120mg sa cap and i was reading the side effects and he is acting very different he is very weak and having a hard time geting up from a chair and his legs are weak and wobbly and his voice is so raspy you can hardly understand him. i took him to the doctors and they have done bolld work and cat scan of the head and ultra sound of his thoart and can t fine anything could it be this medication its the only he has change in the last month?
Diltiazem is not likely to be the cause of these changes. Diltiazem can cause headache, dizziness and fatigue in some patients. But the extreme weakness and voice changes are not reported with the use of diltiazem. I would recommend you to have a regular follow up with your doctor to detect any other cause for the present condition. I hope the above information clarifies your queries. Thank you fro writing not healthcaremagic.
