Hi,I am Diwashish Biswas (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The Side Effects Of Discontinuing Bystolic?
I experience, Bradycardia, Low Heart Rate between 48-51, have been on Bystolic for a while, now my LPN recommended to go off and see if that raises BPM. They did an EKG today and noticed no electrical issues. What is next step, if going off Bystolic, does not raise BPM?
Normally, someone with a low heart rate, who do not have any symptoms from it, does not need any treatment. Bystolic is likely causing your heart rate to go lower, so I would expect it to increase once stopping it. However, if it remains below 50, and you have been having symptoms such as lightheadedness or weakness that is thought to be due to the low heart rate, a pacemaker is sometimes placed in such patients.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
