Dear sir, I met with a dog bite,which belongs to a family,when I asked about vaccine of the dog was done,they replied me that the dog was vaccinated up to date, I have been vaccinated 1dose &nedd to have some multiple disses,does any good controll required for me

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to HCM.
Since the dog is vaccinated and you too are taking the required post exposure injections regularly, so no need to worry.

Just make sure you washed the wound with detergent soap under running water for 15 minutes as this kills any virus on the wound .

Also make sure you have taken a Tetanus toxoid injection within 24 hours of the bite if you have not taken a TT injection in the last 5 years.

Keep the wound clean. If the wound is deep kindly consult a physician for required treatment.
