What Are The Side Effects Of Esiflo Tablets?

Dear Doctor,

My mother is advised to use Esiflo 100 to use whenever she has a breathing problem. She is 60 years old, gone through Angioplasty last month. I need to understand the impact/side effect of the medicine and is there any other way to take precaustion on this.

Regards,
Om

Hello! Esiflo is a combination of drugs, that contains Fluticasone (corticosteroi drug) and Salmeterol (beta2 agonist). It is an antiallergy medication by relaxing and opening the air passages in the lungs, but not in acute phases. It is used in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, running nose, seasonal allergies, sneezzing etc.
It may have side effects. The most common is cough and the feeling of tightness in the chest. Also it present with headache, pharingitis, laringitis, sore throat and its irritation, fever, nausea.
It should not be used in acute asthma or acute obstructive pulmonary disease, in pulmonary tuberculosis and arrhythmias.
I hope i have been of help.
