Hello! Vildagliptin ( galvus met) is still considered a new antidiabetic agent. From the studies performed it is more suitable as a drug for ombination therapy, because the decreased risk for hypoglicemia, in such way of use. Some of it side effects may be hypoglycemia (wich is higher when used with sulphonilurea) liver function disturbances (but with the withdrawal of the drug, the function return to normal), acute pancreatitis, skin lesions (even ulcerations). It should not be used in patient with liver disease.
I hope i have been of help
