What Are The Side Effects Of I-pill And Unwanted 72?

Good morning doctor. I have a query . I am a married person .my age is 27 and my wife age is 26.i am using the condom as safety precaution. I dont want the child right now. But unfortunately i made a mistake . I did sex with out the condom. It happens last hour today. Can my wife use any Ipill or unwanted 72 to as a precaution. Is there any side effact in future for the pregenency. Thanks and regards, rajesh

Hi,

I pill or unwanted 72 are emergency contraceptives, they act to prevent conception when taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, the earlier the better. Being high hormonal containing product, they are known to cause delay in period temporarily. This side effect can last at the most for 2 months. Longer lasting problem needs gynecologists advise to find exact cause and treatment. They don't have long standing side effect on genital system.
