Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for your concern about your health.
Dear patient,
Silodosin is given in cases of a condition called as benign
hyperplasia of the
prostate gland. The prostate gland increases in size and causes many symptoms including difficulty in urinating, and in some cases,
impotence.
The drug you are taking, Silodosin, of the brand name "Silodal", relaxes
the prostate gland and allows it to grow smaller in size.
Any medication should be taken regularly. In case of Silodal, it should be taken once daily with a meal. I am addressing your fear of overdose here.
As for impact on sex life, Silodal, during ejaculation causes the semen to flow backward into the bladder and lead to an orgasm without ejaculation of semen.
Probably the reason you are "losing" erectile ability is the fact that you have stopped regularly taking Silodal. This is because of the pressure that the
enlarged prostate gland exerts.
Please see your
urologist, if you are dissatisfied with Silodal, probably because of lack of ejaculation during orgasm, and replace it with some other
medication for an enlarged prostate, and regain your erectile ability.
Frankly speaking, you are quite fine
Take care of your health. I hope this helps you.
