What Are The Side Effects Of Mazetol 100 And Will I Get Addicted To This?

i am facing mood swings before my periods,periods r regular but can not control anger so my doc. prescribed me mazetol 100 as therapy before 20 days of my periods is it fine to take it n what r the side effects n ya will i b addicted to that medicine?

Hi,

Mazetol contains carbamazepine which belongs to the group of medications known as an anti epileptic medicine is used to treat epilepsy. It helps prevent certain types of seizures. It is also used for a painful condition of the face, head and neck called trigeminal neuralgia, mood disorders and DM related nerve pain. Side effects of Mazetal are nausea, vomiting, loss of balance, dizziness, drowsiness, slurred speech, blurred vision, dryness of mouth, constipation, fatigue, frequent urination, stiffness of limbs, headache, constipation, increased sweating, yellow coloured eyes or skin, allergic reactions etc. If these side effects persist for long or bother you, consult your doctor for medical help.
