What Are The Side Effects Of Nexito 5? Dosage For Nexito 5 Tablet?

Hello doctor, my mon, she s 85, she has been medicated with nexito 5, since tonight. Im afraid of side effects, sinces she lives alone with my dad, he is 90. Im afraid what is he going to feel?.......Can I tell her to start with a quarter of nexito 5, I mean, to cut the pill into 2 parts, and start with a quarter of nexito 10??........tku

Hi,

Thanks for using the HCM. I am happy to address your questions, all medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Nexito 5 contains the active ingredient escitalopram, this is an SSRI antidepressant. Common side effects may include constipation; decreased sexual desire or ability; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; headache; increased sweating; light-headedness when you stand or sit up; loss of appetite; nausea; stomach upset; tiredness; trouble sleeping. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If you have any side effects will recommend you contact your clinician. The dose of 10 mg/day is the recommended dose for most elderly patients and your doctor may slowly increase dose based on response. Hope I have answered your query.
