What Are The Side Effects Of Singular When Given To Children?

Hello Doctor! My Son is 3-1/2 years old and his doctor has prescribed him singular 4 mg tablets as he gets recurrent bronchitus.he is taking singular for a about a year now (On & Off) and i have noticed changes in his behaviour as he has gone very agreesive with severe mood swings.I searched on the internet and got to know that this is a problem with many kids taking singular.and now i want to know that if i swicth form singular myteca will that be ok?does myteca also have same kind of sideeffects in children?

Hi,

Long term use of Montelukast can cause dry mouth, dizziness, sore throat as side effects. You can switch over Myteka which is another brand name for Montelukast and watch for symptoms for the next few weeks. In case of better tolerance,your child can continue taking Myteka.
