What Are The Side Effects Of Suboxone Use For A Long Term?
I need a doctor that specializes in suboxone usage... What is the long term effect from using this drug as I'm going on 3 years and don't see any end in sight...I've asked my doctor if he will continue indefinitely and he will..
It works and have not used any opiates..
I also worry about that when I actually need a pain killer that it will have no effect on me..,
I did have a colonoscopy and did inform the doctor about my sub usage..
Primarily personal issues right now I can't even think about weening off the subs so I now have to think about the long term effect and what I need to know to prevent any long term problems....
Hello........ Thanks for your query. Suboxone is buprenorphine which is a partial opioid agonist. It is used for detoxification from opioids as well as long term maintanence purpose. The side effects include nausea and vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, memory loss, cognitive and neural inhibition, perspiration, itchiness, dry mouth, miosis, orthostatic hypotension, male ejaculatory difficulty, decreased libido and urinary retention. There are no specific long term side effects to worry about. It is comparatively safer in overdosage conditions. Wish you good health. Regards Dr Sundar Substance use specialist
