What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Clarithromycin?

If my body can have negative reactions to artificial colours ie; sunset Yellow etc. Am I likely to have problems if I need to take Clarithromycin Actavis 250g. I ve tried to source this information elsewhere without success. I hope somebody can help me this I would be most grateful. Thank you Pat

Thank you for posting your query to HCM.

Photo sensitivity its not of the side effects of Clarithromycin. Si, no it doesn't cause negative reactions to artificial colors.
But you should be careful to use it if you have known hypersensitivity to clarithromycin, erythromycin, any macrolide, or any ingredient in the formulation, because in that case it may cause allergy.

Keep in mind that it should only be used to treat bacterial infections and not used to treat viral infections; Its important of completing full course of therapy, even if feeling better after a few days; skipping doses or not completing the full course of therapy may decrease effectiveness and increase the likelihood that bacteria will develop resistance and will not be treatable with clarithromycin or other antibacterials in the future;
