What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Flecainide And Toprol?

I m a 66 year old who had a stroke last Jan, a PFO closure on my heart in July, and got a pace maker in Aug. I m taking a 81-MG aspirin, 2 flecainide a day (morning and night), a xarelto with dinner, and a lipitor about an hour before bedtime, and a toprol at bedtime. Can you tell me the pros and cons of flecainide and toprol?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The flecainide and toprol would help to control your heart rate and also rhythm of the heart beat which would be reduce the risk of a future stroke or heart attack.
Irregular heart rate or rhythm can cause an embolus or clot to leave the blood vessels of the heart and either block another blood vessel in the heart or go to the brain.

There are potentials side effects that may or may not occur, with most drugs ,the side effects occur in the minority.
Some of the side effects of toprol are headache, dizziness, insomnia, mental confusion

Some of the side effects of flecainide are: abnormal sensations, lower limb weakness, dizziness, slowing of heart rate

I hope this helps
