Hello, I really would be grateful for help. My Father who is 67 years old and takes xanax, and Morphine. He has been sleeping at least 18 hours a day and when he is awake he sits and falls asleep, wakes up,falls asleep,Falls a slleep while someone is talking to him. He has been stumbleing around and his talking don t always make sense. He has been this way for about 4 days now. I believe it is from too much xanax. Hi,

Xanax is a benzodiazepine and so it can make people sleepy. If your father is so sleepy, you should inform his doctor immediately so that he can decide about stopping Xanax. Your father may also need a change in the dosing of morphine. Please consult with his doctor as soon as possible, because there may other factors contributing to this problem.

Best wishes.
