What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Metadate 30mg CD?

My son is currently taking Metadate 30mg CD. I am trying to find something that would be compairable. We have had tremendous luck with it, but things are starting to change for the worst; not being able to concentrate, sit still in school. Any suggestions?

hello dear. welcome to HealtCareMagic.com. thanks for trusting us. I have understood your queries. I hope your family is in good condition now.

firstly, metadate CD contains methylphenidate, use as central venous stimulants to treat attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. It works by changing the amounts of certain natural substances in the brain.

the common side effects by using metadate are nervousness, fast heart beat, headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, seizure, psychological problems such as: anxiety, irritability, anger, agitation, somnolence, dyskinesia (disorder in movement) and many more. some cases report that using metadate can precipitate worsening tic disorder in ADHD patients. if your son symptoms still continue or get worse, please better consult to your treating doctor about the side effects. he may need dosage adjustment.

to be your concerns, here some tips for you:
1. Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
2. Your doctor may direct your son to gradually increase or decrease your son's dose. The dosage is based on his medical condition and response to treatment.
3. if he have used it for a long time, do not suddenly stop using this drug without consulting your doctor. it can cause withdrawal syndrome that may harm your son.
4. Nervousness and insomnia may be controllable by reducing the dosage and omitting the drug in the afternoon or evening. please contact your doctor about these.

I hope these can be helpful for your queries. If there's anything else you want to discuss, feel free to ask me in HCM. I'd be glad to help. send my greetings to your son. Take care.

Regards,
dr. Asti Yuliadha
