What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Neugaba For Long Term?

I have been taking neugaba 75mg one per day for the past 8 years to reduce my leg pain. Is it safe to take for this long period and what are the side effects and what tests need to be carried out to check the medication effect on my health condition. Thank you. Saraswathi, age 53

Hello
Since you are taking neubaba i.e. pregabalin 75 mg for 8 years for fibromyalgia ( leg pain ).
However, there are few side effects as dizziness , dowsiness, ataxia, tremors ,lethargy,weight gain , constipation tacycardia, excessive salivation etc.
But these side effects occurs in the beginning ( or when drug start) , so need not to bother about these side effects .
But if you develop angioedema ,discontinue treatment .
Please don't stop this drug at once, rather withdraw gradually.
The most important test is ,regular vision check is recommended.
May decrease platelets count and prolong PR interval in heart .
So regular eyes check up.
Blood for platelets .
ECG for heart check up.
