Hi, My wife is taking Thyronorm 100 since 2 months. This dose was increased from 25 to 100. 25 - was used for 6 months. 50 - for 2 months after going to a thyroid specialist, and then it was increased to 100 as the pace at which the levels differed post T3/ TSH tests was not significant. Now there is burning sensation while urinating. It decreases with regular barley water, but comes back again when spices are consumed. Is this linked to side effects of thyronorm? or is it because of the body heat that is getting worse by consumption of spices?
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM! I read carefully and appreciate your concerns regarding to your wife's health and understood your query. Levothyroxine over dosage does not cause this symptom. I would suggest to rule an urinary infection if you haven't done it. An urine sample for urine analysis would be of help. Wish her good health. Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta Guni
