last year i had 2 episodes of bacterial vaginosis and a recurrent episodes of thrush, i had swabs to confirmed this. i kept trying to work out why i was gettign recurrent thrush and bv twice, i did some internet research because my doctor unset abit trying to blame my boyfriend cheating, i did a diary to try and connect it to sex but it wasn't. i then found someone wrote saying they had the same thing and stop their pill (yasmin) and it stopped, i was on yasmis so i stopped this in february of this year, everything was fine and i didnt have any thrush or bv. except now a couple of weeks ago i had thrush and now ive got the fishy ordour of bv but this time i have pelvic pain without, what do you think could be the reason of this?
Yasmin pill per se, does not cause local infection. But as you are taking pills you tend to have unprotected intercourse which could be a source of repeated infection. Pelvic pain along with local infection is not a good sign as it indicates that the infection has spread upwards, so better to get proper treatment for infection and would also advice your boyfriend to take the treatment as he would not have any symptoms but could be a carrier for infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
