What Are The Signs Of Having A Gluten Allergy?

My daughter thinks she may have a gluten allergy. She has lost 10 pounds, a lot of her food passes not completed digested with loose stools. She has leg cramps, tremors in her arms, swollen neck glands, and she just does not feel good. She had an upper endoscopy 10 days ago and is waiting for the celiac test results. What else could be wrong?

There can be a multitude of things that *could* be wrong. The incomplete digestion of food does lead to question lactose intolerance versus celiac disease(gluten intolerance) other things such as inflammatory bowel disease (crohns , ulcerative colitis, microscopic colitis, lymphocytic colitis, etc) could also be a possibility. The cramping is likely due to low electrolyte levels due to not absorbing food well, make sure she is consuming a daily vitamin and Gatorade or pedialyte. The swollen glands can be from simple things such a simple cold, vomiting, viral illness, to more serious things such as cancers. Await her results from the endoscopy is the best place to start, then if negative consider routine blood work, and a visit to pediatrician/physician.
