Cardiologist do not treat lipids in this manner. They take a look at your entire lipid profile as well as other heart risks and make decisions regarding your level of risk and what, if any, treatments are needed.

Essentially, the standards are not directed to just altering one lipoprotein such as HDL but rather to address the entire profile. Please write back with your entire fasting profile and we can give you a better idea what it all means.
