What Are The Symptoms Of UTI?

hi doctor. i have been seeing my boyfriend for a while now but the past 3 times weve been intimate i have had just begun my period. i have not been with him since late april and he came to me today to tell me he had symptoms of a uti for the past 3 weeks, and insinuated the chance i gave him a std. to my knowlege i do not have an std so i was curious if having contact with my newly shedding period three times in a row with no intimacy in between would have caused him to experience this. he has since taken antibiotics and says the symptoms have gone away. this is severely troubling me. any answers will be greatly appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your boyfriend can be related to a urinary tract infection and also an STD.

I recommend both of you to test for STD infection to check if you have any sexually transmitted infections. In such a case you should get both treatments.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
