Hi varsha;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
Child cough after a cold is common & in some children even breathlessness with cough.Your doctor has advised asthalin which is a bronchodilater so you can continue it but give him proper dosage as advised & not more.This type of cough take few days to recover & also in most children as they grow the asthmatic element fades away as the age & immunity of a child increases so don't worry.If it does not settle in another 2 days consult a paediatrician & even discuss regarding nebuization for the child if required.
Take care.
Thanks
