Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
WHEN WALKING OUTSIDE, EVE ON A SLIGHTLY INCLINED SIDEWALK I DEVELOP SHORTNESS OF BREATHE & HAVE TO STOP FOR 1-2 MINUTES. WHEN I RESUME WALKING AGAIN I MUST STOP AGAIN AFTER A SHORT DISTANCE. WALKING 2-3 BLOCKS CAN TAKE A HALF HR. HOWEVER, ON THE RETURN TRIP-DOWNHILL-NO PROBLEM. I ALSO HAVE A CHRONIC COUGH. COULD THIS BE BRONCHOSPASM?
Your symptoms could be suggestive of a lung disorder. For this reason, I recommend performing a chest X-ray study and pulmonary function tests. Another issue to consider would be heart failure. For this reason, it is necessary performing a cardiac ultrasound and checking NT pro BNP plasma levels. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
