What Are The Symptoms Of Injured Ribs Cage?

Hi I fell down the stairs today I have been in a lot of pain all day with my neck, my back, bottom, lower rib cage on left handside in the back to be honest feel like I have been in a car crash. It hurts a little to breathe. Have I bruised my rib cage? And have whiplash type injuries?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case and I can assure you that it is not a whiplash injury. It is definitely a bruise on your rib cage and it can be a fracture also. So I would recommend you to get x ray of the chest to see if there is any fracture. In that case you need to follow these steps.
1.Do not apply any strapping.
2.Hot water fomentation
3.Tablet Ultracet one to two daily.
4.Coughing, sneezing can be painful.
This pain can stay for at least one month. I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
