I ve been on antibiotics for a week now due to what the doctor diagnosed as strep without even doing a culture (he did say my glands were swollen). I ve this morning developed a rash and have discontinued use of the antibiotic as per my doctor. It was only on my torso and arms and legs until late this afternoon and now it s on my face. I have taken benedryl to ease the discomfort of itching. I became concerned about the rash spreading to my face and spoke with a doctor and he mentioned something like it might have been Mono and if I felt bad next week to go back to the doctor s office. My question is, I have small children, could it really be mono? What should I be concerned with regarding their health?
