What Are The Symptoms Of Tinea Barbae And Vitiligo?

hi m from hyd now currently in USA i finished my majors in medicine in KMC warangal.
My question is i got this wierd thing on my upper lip like white hairs, but no skin hypopigmentation and nothing, it's been gradually growing and thats only whitening of my mustache on upper lip right side. what is the pathology behind i couldn't really figure it out. some says it's tinea barbae, and others says it's vitilago?

Hi. Localized white hairs (poliosis) may be seen in vitiligo. But you are syaing underlying skin is not hypopigmented. Another possibility is alopecia areata. In alopecia areata, there is loss of hair density (skin looks smooth) and white hairs might be seen in alopecia patch. It could be seen in vitamin B12 deficiency too. And, at last, it could be age related. Hope it answers your queries
