What Are The Symptoms Of Vestibular Migraine And How It Can Be Diagnosed?

My name is Suzanne. I am experiencing dizziness. It started about 2:00pm yesterday and has gotten better, but it is still there. I have been taking it easy, and from what I am reading on line, it seems to have the same symptoms as a vestibular migraine, but I am worried that it could be more serious. Are there symptoms I should watch for?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Symptoms to watch for would include double vision, vision loss, weakness of the face or limb muscles, slurred speech, intense headache. Those would be symptoms which might indicate a more serious brain lesion. Otherwise it is more likely to be in the setting of a more benign vestibular issue. Blood pressure should be measured and if symptoms persist some blood tests to screen for issues like anemia which can also cause dizziness are recommended.
