What Are The Treatment Option Available For Unsafe Ear Discharge ?
My 8 year old child had fever and ear pain and was treated with antibiotics, after 2 months he again had ear ache and foul smelling pus in the left ear,now there is hole in the ear tympanic membrane. doc say it is unsafe type of ear infection and need surgery, i dont want to subject my child to surgery. what are the treatment option available for unsafe ear discharge ?

my brother had CSOM, i dont know its unsafe or safe, but doctor advised him surgery. after surgery he has no problems now. he is good and recovered well. any how wat do yu mean by unsafe type?

I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PREFER ANY MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR UNSAFE CSOM. IT IS ALWAYS SURGERY. MAIN AIM IS TO MAKE THE EAR AND THE PATIENT SAFE, NOT THE HEARING OR ANYTHING ELSE. IF IT IS SURELY AN UNSAFE CSOM, DO NOT WASTE TIME, FOLLOW YOUR DOCTORS ADVICE

if it is 2 months, I think you should go by your doctor decision. Take a second opinion from ENT specialist if you do not like it.
