What Are The Treatments For Vomiting, Diarrhea And Abdominal Pain?

Hello, my daughter has been sick for the last 3 days with vomitting and diarhea. She is not running a fever but she can not keep anything down. The diarhea has seemed to subside for now but she is experiencing a lot of abdominal pain. It is not isolated to one side or another.

Hello,

It seems your daughter has Acute Gastro-enteritis. A course of empirical antibiotic preferably a combination of Fluoroquinolones (e.g ofloxacin) and metronidazole is usually advised in addition to antiemetic (e.g. Ondansetron -IV initially and then oral as needed) and Oral rehydration solution (ORS).

Abdominal pain is likely to subside with antispasmodic like Buscopan (hyoscine) to relieve intestinal cramps.

Hello,

The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to a gastrointestinal infection. I suggest using over the counter option like Imodium three tablets a day for diarrhea. I also recommend taking daily probiotics. I suggest to drink liquids and eat a plain diet.
