What Are The Withdrawal Symptoms Of Effexor?

Hi,I have a question about withdrawing from effexor.I was on 225mg for 16 years. It stopped working so I decided to wean myself off. I started with 150mg for a week,75mg for the next week and 37.5mg for a week. The symptoms are horrible. I take clonazepam for panic attacks. I feel so angry,agitated,crying more than I ever have. Is there something I can take to alleviate these symptoms? And,how long will this past? Will it get worse before it gets better?

Since you were on the medication for a long period of time at a relatively high dose, the withdrawal symptoms may last for a long time.

The exact time interval is not known but increases with the duration of medication and the strength used.
It would be best that the medication is discontinued with your doctor so he or she can monitor for symptoms and treat accordingly.

Some of the symptoms may also be due to the illness recurring.
