What Can I Do For Congestion And Hoarseness In My 1 Month Old Son ?
i have a 1 month old and he has a congested nose and his voice is a little bit hoarse. I am not sure if he is sick or not because he s not acting sick and has had no fever . His nose started getting congested after his 6 year old brother got over his cold. his brother never touched him or came near him and we all washed our hands a lot. I ve been using the bulb syringe on him and it s not doing much. what can i do for the congestion and the hoarseness in his voice?

Hi,
You may use homoeopathic medicine. 1. Aconite 30 - 1 drop 3 times 2. Sambucus 30 - 1 drop 3 times. Use medicines with water. Avoid use of cooler and AC.

Your one month old kid has a Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI), May be Viral, that is common cold. It is in the initial stage and he may develop fever later. You should be taking him to a Pediatrician so that he can evaluate him completely and rule out the exact cause. Get a Chest X ray if necessary after discussing it with his Doctor. He will require antibiotics and nasal decongestants if the congestion is severe. It will go away in a week or two, give him fluids and continue breast feeding if you do and Practice Good Hygiene at home.
