What Can Be Done For The Acid Reflux And Constant Crying Of A 5week Old?

5 wk old with reflux...will NOT stop crying 4-7 hours every day!! Has never been content since birth. Diagnosed with dairy allergy and put on special formula at 4 weeks as well as zantac. The formula seems to agree and he likes it...little spit up and allergy gone. However...still cannot put him down and the 4-7 hour stretches of constant crying are daily but inconsistent on the time of day. Just confused on reviews of gripe water? levstin? colic calm? chiropractor?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

The very first thing is to evaluate with his pediatrician the severity of reflux.

Next, you should have patience and to:
- raise his head from shoulders to the top to avoid spit
- feed him often and encourage not to rash (to avoid too much gas ingested)
- can give water and use baby colic calm (to reduce gas)

Once again, should collaborate with his pediatrician closely for specific precautions for your baby.
