What Can Be Expected Improvement After Cochlear Implant?
my cousin has got bilateral profound hearing loss. He is a candidate for cochlear implant. Before going for the surgery you need to know the expectations (improvement of the surgery). Improvement will be depends on his age, IQ, earlier usage of hearing aids, therapy, quality of present speech. this is the responce from one of doctoe can u please tell us how much this operations cost depending on your expectations you can go ahead with cochlear implant.

What your doctor said is absolutely true. Proper pre-operative evaluation is the key to the success. Also, pre-operative CT scan of cochlea can help a lot. If you are in India then the State Govt sponsors the cochlear implant for free. The success depends upon many a factors as you have already mentioned. Also important is to find the most experience ENT surgeon doing cochlear implant to have best possible results. Go for it.
