What Can Be The Reason For Numbness In Foot?

I am at the point where I will have to schedule in the real near future for knee replacement and I have been having symptoms of foot numbness on the outside of my left foot by my little toe. I always have swelling in my knee and when I go in to see my orthopedic doctor he has to aspirate it. Could the fluid in my knee be causing numbess in my foot??

Swelling in knee must be investigated.Repeated aspiration of knee is not desirable.cause of numbness of foot could be neuropathy.
