What Can Cause An Old Mole On Head Cause Pain?

I've had a mole on the back of my head since birth which never troubled me until a couple of days ago. I woke up yesterday and as I rubbed my head and went over the mole, it was quite painful. Every time I touch it now, it feels sore and painful. What should I do?
