What Can Cause Blood And Mucus In Stool Along With Excessive Weight Loss?

Dx: unknown. My son has seen 13 different specialist . He is 17 and 6ft tall and only weighs 123lbs. Nothing he eats stays in him. Chronic diarrhea for three years. Every test they have done from colonoscopy to CT to MRI to sweat test to UA everything keeps coming back negative. Fatty, mucus stools, bloody, and oily. Every time. Every still sample comes back fine. Yet continues to lose weight. Any ideas or test to try ??

Hello,

As you said he is passing fatty stools means why is stool analysis not showing? How much weight did he lose? How many times in a day he is passing stools?

So don't worry he may be suffering from irritable bowel syndrome or food intolerance or b12 or folic acid deficiency or malabsorption syndrome etc.

So get it done an endoscopy, colonoscopy, mucosal biopsy and stool fat analysis.

Avoid spicy food and fatty food. Avoid gluten and lactose contain food. Take soft diet, take Sporulac tablet thrice a day for five days.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
