What Can Cause Blood In The Stool?

Hi my 8 month old fell off the couch today and hit her head pretty hard. It actually left a knot on her head. We went to the ER and they watch for about an hour, ask was she vomitting(which she was not) and sent us home. Changing her diaper I spotted a little blood on the wipe. Her stools are sometimes hard because she only can drink soy milk. Could the blood have anything to do with her fall this morning?

Hello,
thanks for using health care magic

i would rather say, its more of a coincidence and
the spot is not likely due to the fall.

She might be suffering from a small infection of the
stomach or its just nothing. If she is twisting her
abdomen or passing out loose motions or if the
blood increase or persist, you will then need to worry
and get her to see a doctor.

So for now, no need to worry unless as stated above.

Best regards
Dr Achuo
