Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Tympanoplasty is a surgery wherein the tympanic membrane alone is operated and a graft put in as per the choice of the operating Surgeon.
Since this operation also involves local dissection and putting in a graft, the healing takes about 3 to 6 weeks. Till then the remodeling goes on.
During healing the ear can weep as a normal response and hence can cause fluid to come out. If there is no
redness or pain, there is nothing to worry about.
Secondly, if you still have
cold or so, the fluid can travel through Eustachian tube and cause fluid
drainage through the ear.
Surely, it is always better to see your Operating Surgeon to get an actual examination so that any treatment if needed can be done to give you better results.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
