What Can Cause Foul Smelling,white Color Stools?
Was scheduled for an endoscopy and colonoscopy on Monday, Feb 28. A few days before tests, I felt hungry but was only able to eat a few bites, then was totally full. Early Sunday morning (before taking any prep for tests) I started out with complete fluid bowel movements....watery all day - like I had already started taking the prep. I started prep at 4:30 PM on Sunday and took the other half at 9:30 PM on Sunday night. Endoscopy went well (get biopsy results back tomorrow) - colonoscopy couldn't be finished as I was in too much pain (wasn't put to sleep) - doctor said he had to quit because on level of 0-10 my pain was an 8. Since then, stomach pain, gas, etc., which I think is normal. But for the past two days, my stool is white and smells horrible! What can be the cause of this?

Hello,
White/clay color stool due to mucous or due to absence of bile seen in obstruction of bile duct or gallbladder pathology. Other possibilities are colitis, appendicitis, Irritable bowel syndrome or food Intolerance et cetera.
Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast, use stools for culture and microscopy, and avoid fatty Food and alcohol. Get liver function tests done and ultrasound abdomen for obstruction.
Treatment may depend on the diagnosis please review with above reports or follow with your treating doctor; he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.
