What Can Cause Muscle Cramps In The Legs While On Levofloxacin?

I am a 76 year old female with Addison s Disease (18 yrs.) I have a U.T.I. and am being treated with Levofloxacin, now the 3rd day. I have previously been diagnosed with spondolithesesis and degenerative disc disease, lately been having lots of increased leg pain, including muscle cramps down my leg (severe). When I saw that tendonitis was a possible side effect, it concerned me because I have thought that I may already have it. What a quandry

Hi,

You are right quinolones can cause tendinitis. And for same reason we try to avoid this using in children and frail people. If you have any such symptoms you can talk to your dr for alterative antibiotics.
