What Can Cause Muscle Pain And Weakness Along With Weight Loss?

My sister has a cpk of 4,000, muscle pain, muscle weakness and weight loss over the last 3 moths and it is progressive. She is schedule to see a neurologist at the University of Pennsylvania in several weeks. What is your best guess at what might be causing this.

Hi,

Muscle pain, associated with weakness and raised CPK tells muscle inflammation. Looks like polymyositis. Requires muscle biopsy and electromyography.
