What Can Cause Pain Around The Navel After Taking Nizonide For Giardiasis?

Hi Doc,
My son of age 2.5 years infected with Giardia lambila and treated with nizonide for 3 days. But still he complains that he gets pain at naval point. why it is happenng after treatment also?
Shall I have to give him more medication or it is due to reapir of intestine?
Please explain..

Hi,

The area has to heal up treating any infection. Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, it takes days to a week for the symptoms to subside. There are many other possibilities but this one is pretty much certain to be there (giardia and its consequences.)
