Hi. Noted the history related yo your husband who has undergone hernia operation 3 weeks ago and also has prostatitis for which he is taking Ciprofloxacin. Since his Doctor has diagnosed pain in left testicle as epididymis, I would advise the following. Get ultrasound and color Doppler done of the abdomen and scrotum. Culture and sensitivity of urine. Antibiotics according to the reports. Plenty of oral fluids. Scrotal support.
Yes prostatitis is known to give epididymitis and orchitis by retrograde infection.

What Can Cause Pain In Testicle?
Hello Thanks for query . Your husband has enlarged prostate with Inguinal hernia . He is operated three weeks back for hernia and has developed infection of the Epididymis . The Epididymitis he has due to combined effect of retrograde infection from the site of surgery and prostate . Hernia is always secondary to Enlarged prostate hence it is routine practice to do Prostate and Hernia surgery at the same time . Continue taking antibiotic and anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily . It will take 3-4 weeks to get it cured completely . Dr.Patil.
